"The food is amazing and the service is amazing. The people are nice. It had a relaxed ambience and has TV and music so you can vibe. One of the best breakfast places ever!"

"I've been here twice and got the chilliquiles both times. It was excellent. I've also tried one of their newer crepes and was impressed - the outside was light and crispy in places, the fruit fresh and just a light spread of Nutella inside to sweeten a bit. Service was excellent as they were not too busy. Everything was reasonably priced given other brunch spots I've seen, and the vibe is casual/fun."

"My friend Marcy mentioned that the former long time cook at Nini's started this restaurant so we decided to give it a try. The restaurant is located on El Camino in San Mateo and we were all able to find street parking. Additional parking is located behind the restaurant if you desire.
I am happy to report that the food was very similar in terms of quality and taste to Nini's. The service was also warm and friendly. Marcy had the Denver omelette and Jamil and I had the teriyaki steak and eggs. All three lunches were prepared well. We look forward to returning soon."

"When in San Mateo... early... on the morning after day light savings, and you just need a pick me up- Johnnys First Toast! Amazing!!! Cute little diner serving great food and pumping the best music! The sign out front says "best coffee in town" and they are right. This place tasted like a Sunday breakfast with my grandparents. From the orange juice to the buttered sourdough toast. I enjoyed the veggie omelette (egg white add spinach) and a mimosa. We also had the breakfast combo of eggs and blueberry pancakes. Huge portions! Attentive service! Wish we lived close because I would be here all the time! Breakfast, lunch, and Mexican specialities!! Plus full bar!"
